The Best Makeup Remover for All Skin Types

Is this the best makeup remover on the market?

If so, I may have found the secret to taking your makeup off at night.

The Take It Away Makeup Remover Lotion from Estee Lauder has been an absolute game changer for me.

This stuffs melts away product like a breeze and makes serious short work of taking off my makeup. What has me most in love, however, is that it is an oil-free lotion. That means it does all of this without leaving any heavy residue on your face.

The Take It Away lotion first gained my attention while working on counter. You can probably imagine how many times a day a counter makeup artist would swatch foundation, lipstick, shadows and more on their hand. I found that I could use one quick pump of this makeup remover and it would take off five red lipsticks without a trace.

It quickly became one of my favourite items to sell on the Estee Lauder counter!

Since adding it to my own skincare I’ve noticed a huge shift in how I approach my routine.

I know that, if nothing else, I can take a few pumps of Take It Away and massage it across my face without any water and it will instantly begin to lift everything.

And I mean everything.

This baby has been formulated to remove even waterproof and long-wear products so my Double Wear foundation is no match. Don’t stress though, it does not feel stripping or drying on the skin. In fact, it almost feels as light as rubbing water on your face.

Of course, this is a makeup remover, not a cleanser. I would always recommend double cleansing in the evening; firstly to remove the makeup and grime that’s on your face and secondly to properly clean the skin. The Take It Away lotion just performs this first step far more effectively than your normal ‘cleanser’.

Rub, rub, rub.
Splash some water.
Remove it all with a cloth.

Then I simply go in with my cleanser of choice (right now it’s the Skin Resurfacing Cleanser from Dermalogica) and move on to my serum and moisturiser.

I may not do everything that’s best for my skin. I could always drink more water, eat more veggies and stop picking at spots. But the Take It Away makeup remover lotion has made it easy to get my nightly skincare down pat.

Have you tried the Take It Away lotion? What’s your fave part of your skincare routine?
